Videos (based in physical forms, like DVDs, VHS, Blu-Ray, etc.) are safe to use in the face-fo-face classroom as long as:
1. You procured them legally (i.e., are not a copy or something recorded from television).
2. Meet the District's criteria for your content area and age level. Check with your department leader/supervisor for details on ratings, etc.
3. Have an educational purpose.
Full-length shows and movies are sometimes found on YouTube. These videos are considered pirated, unless they are posted from the production company itself. Unless you can verify the video comes from the original source, DON'T USE IN THE CLASSROOM.
Here's an example. Say you wanted to show something from The Great British Bake Off. There are a TON of YouTube videos available, including what looks like some full-length episodes. Unfortunately, it's hard to trust the validity of any YouTuber BESIDES The GBBO itself.
