About this Page: Teaching Materials
This page includes practical resources intended to assist K-12 educators in building representation and racially inclusive lessons into the curriculum. If you have trouble locating any resource, or would like help finding or using information, do not hesitate to contact any CVSD librarian.
For assistance and follow-up with the content of the PD course, Racially Inclusive Practices in the Classroom, contact Maggie Bokelman or Erin Mengel.
In addition to traditonal encyclopedia articles, World Book online has many special resources such as timelines, quizzes, webquests, a biography database, multimedia, primary sources, pathfinders, and more. The "Behind The Headlines" resource is especially recommended; it features articles about current events with lessons and activities included (past featured articles are archived and searchable by topic). See "Passwords" box for access.
Gale Global Issues in Context includes news, global viewpoints, reference materials, country information, primary source documents, videos, statistics, and more. Updated daily. For access, see passwords box.
