Grading / Gradebook Tips

  • Below  is a visual guide that will help you sync grades from Actively Learn to Schoology.  Remember to choose a grading category (such as Independent Learning) that is recognized by Skyward.

Importing Assessments Into Schoology

If you already have a quiz/test created in Word or Google Doc, rather than painstakingly re-creating it the long way in Schoology, here's a short tutorial video on how you can quickly (relatively speaking) and easily import it straight into a Schoology quiz/test. Works with multiple choice questions, true/false, essay, etc.

Grading Groups

There are pros and cons to grading groups. They help to differentiate instruction, help you organize your course, and make your course easier to navigate from the student perspective. But, if you want to assign the same assessment to different groups, but on different days, you will need to remember to give the assessment unique names for each grading group.  Additionally,  assignments from outside entities that  integrate with schoology, such as Edpuzzle, may need a work-around.  You will need to decide if the advantages of using grading groups outweigh the disadvantages for your situation.
